A New Standard in Industrial Safety: Modular Containers by Liansuo

As industrial automation and the energy transition continue to accelerate, the safe storage of high-risk chemicals and lithium batteries has become a critical issue for both operational continuity and regulatory compliance.

Liansuo Building Technology has introduced its “Modular Specialized Container” solution, purpose-built for the storage of chemicals and lithium batteries. Centered on engineering design and integrated with international safety standards, the solution provides a professional protection system that is rapidly deployable and verifiable, setting a new benchmark for industrial safety.

A Modular Design Approach

This product series is built on the structural foundation of a standard 2020-foot container, comprehensively upgraded for industrial safety performance.

Liansuo’s core concept is to transform conventionally highly customized and construction-intensive safety facilities into modular, independent units with logistical flexibility and rapid deployment capability. This allows businesses to complete safety storage installations in compliance with international standards within the shortest possible timeframe, significantly reducing implementation barriers and project schedule risks. In this way, industrial safety is turned into a practical “plug-and-play” solution.

Three High-Risk Applications, Three Dedicated Protection Designs

To address the most common high-risk hazardous materials in industrial environments, Liansuo has developed three product series based on distinct risk characteristics, each offering a corresponding protection solution:

  • Fire Risk Control Type | LS-20GP Series: Designed for the storage of flammable and oxidizing gases. Its full-side opening design improves gas cylinder handling efficiency, while the 22-hour fire-rated rolling shutter helps prevent fire spread in the event of a fire.
  • Fire and Leakage Risk Control Type | LS-20HC Series: Engineered for flammable liquids, including drums and IBCs. It combines a high-grade fire-resistant structure with a closed sump system to immediately contain leaked liquid and reduce the risk of secondary hazards.
  • Thermal Runaway and Explosion Risk Control Type | DLC Series: Specially designed for lithium batteries and low-flash-point flammable liquids. It incorporates a controlled pressure-relief design to directionally release pressure during thermal runaway or deflagration, ensuring structural safety.

Premium Fire Protection Performance

Liansuo’s specialized containers adopt a high-specification fire protection design. The walls and ceiling are constructed with stamped metal composite fire-resistant panels with a total thickness of 120 mm120 mm, filled with rock wool and ceramic wool. The structure can achieve up to 33 hours of fire resistance and has passed CNS 12514 Class 1 flame-resistance certification.

In addition, the thermal conductivity is only 0.22 W/(m⋅K)0.22 W/(m⋅K), effectively isolating external heat sources and ensuring a high level of safety for stored materials even under extreme conditions.

Controlled Explosion Venting Mechanism

For explosion protection, Liansuo incorporates the core concept of FM DS 1-44 “damage-limiting design,” applying an engineering philosophy of releasing risk rather than resisting it.

The container walls are designed as controlled weak points and paired with the FM-approved explosion vent fastener LS-EV01, which disengages precisely at the preset pressure to provide directional venting. At the same time, the LS-JS900 restraint cable system prevents vent panels from becoming airborne, further safeguarding personnel and adjacent facilities.

Climate Resilience and Rapid Deployment

In addition to fire and explosion protection, the series also takes variable climate conditions into full consideration.

For low-lying areas or sites exposed to flooding risk, an embedded flood barrier system can be added as an option, providing flood protection up to 600 mm600 mm. It does not interfere with normal operation during daily use and can be quickly activated when disaster warnings are issued, enhancing site emergency response capability.

In terms of installation, the container must be placed on a reinforced concrete foundation of at least Grade C20 and secured using chemical anchors and dedicated fixing devices. The overall structure has been verified to withstand stability requirements equivalent to 1515-level typhoon conditions.
